What are Epson’s Genesta inks for textile printing?

What does an ink need to make the difference for your company?

It must allow the precision, reliability and durability of fabric prints. No client wants reviews that state “two washes and the colour is already pale and dull”, or “the pattern isn’t sharp, looks like low res”, and so on. Epson formulated Genesta inks specifically for the Monna Lisa series, in order to provide not only the highest quality on any fabric, but also smooth and optimised workflow. Genesta inks come in 4 different formulations: Acid, Reactive, Disperse and Pigment. 4 inks to cover all types of fabric with a specific solution.

All packed in degassed vacuum bags to minimise ink waste: the more you print, the more you save.

GENESTA® AC Acid inks

The best solution to print on properly prepared silk, wool and PA fabrics. Easy to dry, the dried fabrics can also be stored before steaming. Specific washing treatments are performed to eliminate unfixed inks and deliver the finished product.

GENESTA® RE-N reactive inks

The best formula for cotton, viscose, linen, other cellulose fabrics, silk and wool. Still easy to dry, dried printed material can be stored before specific steaming (free of nitrogenous compounds). Specific washing to complete the process and deliver the product.

GENESTA® DS disperse inks

The right ink for PES fabrics. Drying here is a bit more difficult, but as alway we have a properly designed process to provide the best results as always. Fixation can be done with heated steam or high temperature air. Specific washing complete the process.

GENESTA® PG-2 pigment inks

The ink to choose for cotton, viscose, linen, other cellulose and all their PES and PA blends. Since it includes a small amount of binder, it needs a specific drying and washing procedure as well as a second baking to obtain its recognisable brightness and resistance.

Who said ethics and strategy are mutually exclusive?Epson Monna Lisa and Genesta inks give you the best of both worlds. Not just words. A study comparing the Monna Lisa production cycle with a rotary press shows the advantages of inkjet technology in terms of carbon footprint and water consumption. The reduction in water consumption (-27%) has two major environmental benefits: a reduction in the volume of wastewater sent to treatment plants and a reduction in the amount of energy needed to heat process water. In terms of carbon footprint, the Monna Lisa system generates 40% less CO²eq (85.66 vs 139.56)*.

Genesta AC Acid inks (except Fluorescent flavine and Fluorescent pink), Genesta RE-N Reactive inks, Genesta PG-2 Pigment inks and Across DS have reached ZDHC Level 3.
